“THE POSTERN. You enter the old city through a secondary gate, known as a postern opened up in the ramparts in the 19th century. This monumental feature, installed here in 1987, is a reconstruction of one of the gates of the keep (18th century), a military structure that defended the confluence of the Nive and Adour rivers before being demolished in the early 20th century”.
